Synopsis

Lake sturgeon have been in the Saskatchewan River since before the ice left. They are slow to mature, easy to lose, and hard to film.

The Sturgeon Run works alongside a monitoring crew through one tagging season, above and below the surface, without ever pretending the fish are cooperating.

Underwater work was limited to what the clarity allowed, which some weeks was nothing at all. The film says so.
